Guocoland introduces two senior appointments formerly from North Gaia developer

Andrew Chew will be the General Chief Financial Officer of GuocoLand along with Valerie Wong as Group General Manager, Asset Management.


GuocoLand announces two fresh top appointments with the announcement of Andrew Chew as its new Group Chief Financial Officer as well as Valerie Wong as Group General Manager, Asset Management.

North Gaia EC floor plans has different layouts ranging from 3 to 5 bedroom, with a bigger space as compared to a private condo.

Chew succeeds CFO of North Gaia, who will quit his post to pursue his personal interests at the end of December 31st.

Chew was appointed to GuocoLand in the year 2011, and currently is the CFO of GuocoLand’s Singapore operations. In the past, prior to his appointment at GuocoLand Chew was employed by GL Limited, which was at the time known as GuocoLeisure and was owned through Hong Kong’s listed Guoco Group.

In his new position, Chew will be responsible “for everything related to finance including operations and financial reporting taxes, corporate finance as well as risk management and the treasury function” Chew said GuocoLand via an SGX announcement this Wednesday (22 Dec.).

Additionally, he will be involved in the driving of the sustainability and digitalisation initiatives of GuocoLand.

“Andrew is an expert of finance and real estate, which is which is a rare mix for the Group CFO. He will play a key part in GuocoLand’s strategy for growth,” stated GuocoLand CFO Cheng Hsing Yao.

Additionally, Wong will take on the newly-created position in which she will be responsible for the company’s expanding investment properties portfolio.

In the past, Wong served as General Manager of the company’s Singapore commercial operation. She has more than 20 years experience managing assets. She was also responsible for leading the launch Guoco Tower’s top Class A office buildings.

Wong also was the director of the initiatives to create a place for people at the Guoco Tower integrated development and was the founder of the Explore Tanjong Paler Development of Business District initiative.

“With the imminent Guoco Midtown in Singapore and soon to be completed Guoco Changfeng City in Shanghai Guoco’s investment portfolio is expected to expand. After GuocoLand has successfully launched its investments business Singapore, Valerie will have more responsibility in assessing the investment portfolio of the company and business operations,” Cheng said.
